OI!!!

Wow!

Can you believe it? I didn't get so much as a cherry-red penny for letting Summer Haze grope my virgin crotch as I snuggled up with her and Ron Jeremy.

Instead, this pic cost me ten bucks. I know... between that and the $20 admission I could've gotten a lot more when I was in Gatineau over the summer but it's okay... this'll do.

Wow!

This is Pan, whom according to this site is the God of Shepherds, Flocks and Fornication. It is the work of Wesley Rickert and can be found at the g-spot gallery.

An Haitian suspected of being a multiple assassin for President Aristide's Lavalas party, is held captive by a vigilante in Petit Goave, 50kms south of Port-au-Prince, on March 3, three days after the president's departure. He was arrested by armed citizens of Petit Goave, who proceeded to stone him and then burn him alive. Aristide's heavily armed militants, known as chimères, had terrorized people while the president was still in office, taking the place of a corrupt and ineffectual police force.

This picture received an honourable mention in the spot news category but I think it should have won Photo of the Year.

Emotion is so hard to capture, partly because so many people hide it and also because so many people misinterpret it. Fear for example never fails to fascinate me because it seems so hard to freeze. Here though that look goes far beyond... this is the look of death.

I'm lucky.. I went today not realizing it was the last Toronto viewing day. If you are in Montreal you can view it at the Parisian Laundry & Co. until October 29.

Rory Carroll has a fascinating account of his 36 hours in captivity in Iraq. I wonder though what happened to the family he was interviewing before he was taken hostage.

Thanks!!!

Wow!
I have (had) the best co-workers in the world!!! I got this package of goodies this afternoon during a go-away lunch...

A wicked grey backpack that I'd been eyeing, a Toronto Community Housing lunch bag (I'm the first one to have it!!!), a toque, four Milan cheese biscuits and a red packet with money. On top of that, TWO thank you cards!

I spent 10 months in Communications at Toronto Community Housing, and hope to return soon. Ahh... I almost teared.

The Toronto Marathon

Starting line
They started without me!!!
North York station.
11:07 a.m.

Finish line
I caught up to the racers here, where no doubt thousands squeezed out a sigh of relief after 41.95 kilometers of huffing and puffing. But I was smarter and much faster... I took the train and made it in 54 minutes!
Queen's Park Circle
12:01 p.m.

Time's up!
That's the goal for my next marathon. (On a side note, why do those people look so happy? What have they done to deserve to smile?)

Ashbridges Bay

Splash!
Thank goodness I made it home with dry socks.

Beach in fall
Yup. That's our beach. Eat your heart out Malibu!

Curvy Earth
You can see the water curve in the horizon.

Yumm
These interesting specimens are by the baseball diamond on the north-west corner of Lakeshore Boulevard and Coxwell Avenue. Don't be fooled though... they taste much worse than they look. Maybe if I fry them...

Cripes, I hate reading the Sun.

The Toronto tabloid had this Donato gem last Wednesday, suggesting that Mayor David Miller's push for businesses to hire disadvantaged youth would lead to petty theft.

How ironic then that 30-year-old City Hall employee Richardo Findlay was arrested the very next day and charged with theft over $5,000.

No word on if he was disadvantaged.
